What is CSRD?
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is an EU regulation that came into effect in 2024, aimed at improving corporate accountability and transparency regarding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impacts.
It replaces the Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD) and significantly expands the scope of companies required to disclose sustainability information.
Sustainability reporting
CSRD requires detailed reporting aligned with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), ensuring consistency and comparability of ESG data. This information must cover areas such as greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity impacts, human rights, and governance practices, enabling businesses to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and regulatory compliance.
